Also in the pipeline is a new section on the CLIMACH-X. There is an extention planned for the final descent to come all the way to the car park at the start/finish. Again, we will let you know here, details as they happen.
All routes will remain open as usual during the process, so feel free to come and ride.
The plan is to upload the new routes to the site for you all to try before we finalise the routes by printing maps and placing the waymarking signs around the route. Get in touch via email for further information.
thanks
DYFI team.
People power!
The trails in this area are a good example of people power. Local mountain bikers and business people formed a community group who aim to publicise the great mountain biking in the area and boost tourist income.
The group successfully fundraised to waymark the Mach 1, 2 and 3 routes on rights of way around Machynlleth, and then to build trails in the Dyfi forest, with the help of a community regeneration group, Ecodyfi.
The cli-machx trail is managed and maintained by volunteers. There is a donations box at the trail head. Please show your appreciation!
The group also has a part time mountain bike ranger, Judith Thornton, who does maintenance and organises publicity.
This website is designed as a resource for everything you will need when visiting the Machynlleth area with mountain biking in mind. If you are up for the day, a long weekend or a couple of weeks, there is plenty to keep you entertained, fed and watered after your day in the saddle.
MACH routes 1,2 & 3
The Mach routes are 3 waymarked trails, all starting from Machynlleth. You can pick up route guides from The Holey Trail bike shop in Machynlleth. They vary in length, 1 being the shortest and 3 the longest.
Dyfi Trails Forum now live!
As part of the new trail improvements that are happening at the moment, a new route is currently being planned. The Mach 4 will include some of the Mach 1-3 trails but have a large amount of brand new waymarked section and, if all goes to plan, a propose built bridge near Anglers retreat. We will post the proposed route soon and it promises to be a great epic ride!
